MACAO - Macao's visitor arrivals in package tours in May increased by 11.7 percent year on year to 669,460, according to figures released Friday by the city's Statistics and Census Service (DSEC).
Visitors from the Chinese mainland (465,923), (52,839), Hong Kong (33,485) and South Korea (24,941) increased by 4.9 percent, 63.2 percent, 28 percent and 18.5 percent respectively, the figures indicated.
In the first five months of 2012, visitor arrivals in package tours increased by 30 percent year on year to 3,420,786, according to the DSEC.
Meanwhile, Macao residents traveling outbound in package tours surged by 93.3 percent year on year to 34,395 in May, with the Chinese mainland (70.8 percent of the total) and South Korea (12.3 percent) being the most popular destinations.
