Applications are invited for an experienced postdoc to work on genomic and transcriptomic variation in mosquitoes. The project will use Illumina sequencing to characterise natural variation in the genome and transcriptome of the disease vector Aedes aegypti, and to link this to variation in the ability of mosquitoes to tranit disease. The project is a collaboration between Dr Frank Jiggins (Dept of Genetics, University of Cambridge, UK) and Dr Arnab Pain (KAUST, Saudi Arabia). There will be one post-doctoral position in each laboratory, with close collaboration and exchanges between the labs. The Cambridge position will involve ysis of the assembled genomes together with some rearing of mosquitoes and molecular biology. You must have a PhD or equivalent in genetics and relevant research experience.
