Location: Jena, Deutschland Type: Postdoctoral Posted: January 26, 2011 Expires: March 27, 2011 The group studies modern aspects of DNA replication and S-phase signalling that are related to carcinogenesis and human aging, such as CDC45, RecQ4 helicase, WRN helicase and DNA polymerases. We are looking for an experienced candidate who is excellently skilled in applying current techniques of biochemical, cell biological and molecular biological research. We presume a broad understanding and wide hands-on experience of the research field of DNA replication, repair and recombination. Therefore the position requires a doctoral degree in biology, chemistry or life sciences. We offer the position in a well equipped research group of a high quality institute for age research, which is connected to the Center for Molecular Biomedicine of the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena. Our work is embedded in the Beutenberg Campus, an interdisciplinary base for innovative research. The candidate shall be open minded and works independently as well as integrated in a team and is willing to perform at times with students as well as to collaborate in multidisciplinary areas. We support the integration of new ideas in a creative atmosphere. The position is limited firstly to two years.
