Our research is focused on the molecular characterization of cellular assemblies involved in human disease using yeast as model system. The project involves genetic tagging of yeast, purification of macromolecular complexes, biochemical and functional characterization and imaging of the isolates by molecular electron microscopy. We offer an interdisciplinary, dynamic environment and an excellent laboratory infrastructure with state-of-the-art equipment. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong experience in protein purification and characterization. Previous experience in genetic tagging of yeast as well as protein production in yeast and bacteria is required. Experience in purification and characterization of large macromolecular assemblies is regarded as a plus. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in biochemistry, molecular biology or a related subject. Good communication skills in spoken and written English are required.
