 Postdoctoral Fellow in Radiotracer Development for PET, Sweden

Fellowship program for postdoctoral studies at Uppsala University

Study Subject: Biochemistry and Organic chemistry

Scholarship Description: The postdoctoral fellow will work with the design, synthesis and evaluation of radiotracers for positron emission tomography (PET) based on polypeptides and polypeptide conjugates. This work is part of a larger project with the aim to develop a new class of molecules for medical imaging. Within the project polypeptide conjugates for in vivo recognition and binding of proteins are developed and labelled with short-lived radionuclides.

Qualifications: PhD in organic chemistry, biochemistry, medicinal chemistry or equivalent. Practical experience in organic synthesis or peptide synthesis is a requirement. Experience in working with radionuclides will be considered advantageous. To be eligible for a position as postdoctoral researcher the applicant’s Ph.D. degree must have been obtained no more than three years prior to the application date; however, for example periods of sick leave or parental leave are deducted from the three-year period.

Period of employment: The postdoctoral position is for two years.
