Postdoctoral Research Associate Position in Lithium-ion Batteries

The Department of Chemistry at Xavier University of Louisiana has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research associate in the area of lithium-ion batteries. The position is for 1 year and renewable upon satisfactory progress. The successful candidate will have experience in electrochemical ysis techniques particularly in impedance spectroscopy.
Knowledge with nanomaterials deposition techniques such as sputtering and CVD are beneficial as well as characterization techniques including SEM, XRD, and AFM. The research associate will work in close collaboration with the NYU-MRSEC, industry, and national laboratory collaborators in developing a better understanding of the relationship between nanostructured materials and performance of lithium-ion batteries.
A successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering, physics, chemistry, or a related field of study. The applicant must have excellent communication skills, a willingness to work in a collaborative environment with undergraduate students, and a track-record for solving materials problems and dessimating results to scientific audiences.
