Research focus of our lab is directed toward understanding molecular mechani of early steps of HIV-1 replication. We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in virus and host interaction to work on a project investigating how viral capsid utilizes cellular factors to facilitate uncoating, nuclear transport and integration. A Ph.D. is required and strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Candidates should have a solid background in molecular biology, a good track record of academic publications, and experience working independently in a multi-disciplinary environment. Experience in HIV research is not essential but considered an advantage. The initial appointment is for one year but may be extended for at least 2 years upon mutual agreement.
