We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow who will work within a project aimed at finding new biomarkers predictive for hepatotoxicity as well as genetic and epigenetic factors of importance for interindividual differences in drug metaboli and toxicity.
One basis for the work will be to use a novel type of bioreactor in which primary liver cells, hESC or hIPS cells are introduced. The liver-like structures obtained in the bioreactor will be challenged with different drugs and mechanis and early proteomic and genomic biomarkers for toxicity identified. The other part includes examination of the genome and epigenome in a human liver bank and identification of elements and nuclear factors responsible for interindividual differences in expression of drug transporters and metabolizing enzymes. Validation of the findings can be done using samples from drug phenotyped individuals in collaboration with clinical pharmacologists.
