One post-doctoral position is available at the laboratory “Epilepsy and Cognition” INSERM UMR 751 (Marseille, France) funded by the Ministry of research (ANR) to work in an interdisciplinary environment on the molecular and cellular mechanis of brain function and dysfunction (epilepsy).
Candidates less than four years after their PhD with excellent past-record of achievement will have expertise in electrophysiology (in vitro and/or in vivo).
The project involves investigating the coupling between energy metaboli and neuronal activity, using new cutting edge multimodal electrodes, which enable the simultaneous recording of units, local field potentials and local enzymatic activity. The candidate will interact with microelectronics specialists (G. Malliaras, Ecole des Mines de Saint Etienne), theoretical neuroscientists (V. Jirsa), and clinicians of our Institute.
Funding is for 3 years, and the position opens in March 2011.
