The Single-Molecule Biophysics and Molecular Microbiology research groups at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Groningen University are looking for a highly talented postdoctoral scientist.
This position is available to work in the Single-Molecule Biophysics group of Prof. Dr. Antoine van Oijen. You will develop the single-molecule fluorescence tools to study the activity and dynamics of tranembrane proteins at the single-molecule level.
As a team, you and the PhD student will apply single-molecule tools to visualize individual bacterial translocation channels. Cutting-edge single-molecule fluorescence experiments will be used to understand how this important class of proteins mediates transport of polypeptides across membranes.
Requirements
Candidates who have solid background in biophysical, expecially single-molecule and/or fluorescence techniques, and biochemistry and are highly self-motivared in research are encouraged to apply. Excellence in regular, proactive communication and problem solving as part of a team, strong record keeping, a great work ethic, and initiative are also essential.
Conditions of employment
FOM prefers candidates who have been obtained their PhD degree abroad and who have not had more than two Postdoc contracts.
You will be employed by the FOM-foundation for a fixed period of 2 years. Your salary will be up to a maximum of 3.645 gross per month(欧元), depending on your level of experience. The salary is supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33%.Contact
